The Suzanne Ledin Memorial Foundation was established in 2003 in honor of Suzanne F. Ledin, MT(ASCP)SBB (1947-2002) who worked in blood banking for 24 years. She earned her SBB in 1980 from Irwin Memorial Blood Bank (now Blood Centers of the Pacific). She went on to work for Peninsula Memorial Blood Bank and UCSF Moffitt Blood Center. Later she specialized in bloodborne virus testing with Genetic Systems, Sanofi-Pasteur, and Chiron. Throughout her career, she was involved in education and training, and was a friend and mentor to many.

Suzanne's lifetime devotion to excellence in public health, medical technology and blood banking is an inspiration to her colleagues throughout the world and, by way of the Foundation, is now an opportunity for future generations.
